Your sign is
just the beginning.
Your Sun sign is 1 of 10 planets. A natal chart shows the whole picture: where your Moon is, your Ascendant, and how the planets interact. It's a different level of accuracy.
A horoscope is written for everyone.
A natal chart is just for you.
The Sun Sign is
1 of 10 planets
If your chart has Mars in Scorpio and Saturn in Capricorn, they influence you just as much as your Sun. A sign without a chart is like a diagnosis based on a single symptom.
The Ascendant changes
everything
Two people of the same sign born at different times are different people. The Ascendant determines the mask, first impression, body, and life path. Without the birth time, the picture is incomplete.
The Moon is your
inner life
How you react to stress, what you need to recover, how you love—that's the Moon. People of the same sign with different Moons live completely different lives.
Sun · Moon · Ascendant
Who you are
Ego, will, life purpose. The Sun sign is the archetype you are moving towards. Not who you were born as, but who you are becoming.
What you need
Emotional needs, instincts, childhood patterns. The Moon shows what gives you security and what drains you.
How you are seen
The mask, first impression, physical body. The Ascendant is the point rising on the horizon at the moment of birth. It changes every two hours.

Western Astrology: The Natal Chart, the Big Three, and How to Read a Chart
Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, counting Aries from the point of the vernal equinox. A natal chart (birth horoscope) is a snapshot of the sky at the moment of your birth: the positions of 10 planets across the 12 zodiac signs, distributed among 12 houses. The house system depends on the exact time and place of birth. The most common system is Placidus.
The Big Three are the three most important elements of a natal chart. The Sun sign determines the ego and life purpose. The Moon sign shows emotional nature, instincts, and security needs. The Ascendant (rising sign) is the zodiac sign that was rising on the horizon at the moment of birth. It changes every two hours, which is why twins born two hours apart can have different Ascendants.
Planets in the natal chart: Sun ☉ (will, identity), Moon ☽ (emotions, intuition), Mercury ☿ (communication, thinking), Venus ♀ (love, aesthetics, values), Mars ♂ (energy, action, sexuality), Jupiter ♃ (expansion, luck, wisdom), Saturn ♄ (limitations, discipline, karma), Uranus ♅ (innovation, revolution), Neptune ♆ (dreams, spirituality, illusions), Pluto ♇ (transformation, power).
Aspects are the angular relationships between planets. Conjunction (0°)—a fusion of energies. Trine (120°)—harmony and talents. Sextile (60°)—favorable opportunities. Square (90°)—tension and challenges. Opposition (180°)—polarization, a need for balance. Aspects determine how the planets interact with each other in your chart.
Synastry is the comparison of two people's natal charts to analyze compatibility. Progressions are a forecasting method: each day of life corresponds to one year of development. A Solar Return is a chart for the moment the Sun returns to its exact birth position (on or around your birthday), used to forecast the year ahead.
